Recup/Rebowl is taking the leap across the border. The company, founded in 2016, is already available in over 20,000 restaurant partners in Germany according to its own statements. And now in Austria as well.
Ready for change with Recup
Fabian Eckert, founder and managing director of Recup, explains:

We firmly believe that Austria is ready for a change in the field of to-go packaging.”
To introduce the system in Austria, Austria’s capital Vienna has been honored with its own Recup reusable cup. Featured on it: the skyline with St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Burgtheater, and other Viennese landmarks.
First partner in Austria
As the first partner in introducing the reusable packaging system for to-go containers, Recup is working with Denns BioMarkt in Austria. Since April 1st, customers at all 35 Denns BioMarkt locations across Austria can take beverages to-go in Recup reusable cups for a one-euro deposit, and lunch dishes in Rebowl reusable bowls for a five-euro deposit. The cups and bowls can then be returned at any Denns BioMarkt location in Austria or participating restaurants in Germany.
Partner businesses in Germany include Burger King, Bio Company, Shell, Ikea, Aral, and Alnatura, as well as restaurant chains, bakeries, and many independently-run cafés and restaurants. All cafés, restaurants, bakeries, kiosks, canteens, and gas stations participating in the Recup and Rebowl reusable systems can be found here.
