Since 2019, AmCham Germany has supported female founders with innovative and forward-thinking business models through the Female Founders Award, in partnership with various partners and sponsors. Because in 2024, they still represent a minority in Germany’s startup ecosystem. The award aims to give female founders greater visibility while also providing a network of experienced entrepreneurs and investors.
AmCham Germany is particularly calling on female founders in technology and engineering to apply. However, founding in these fields is not a requirement for application. Female founders can apply themselves or be nominated by companies or individuals. The application deadline is January 14, 2024. An independent jury will then select the award winners, which will be announced in early March.
Marianne Janik, Vice President of AmCham Germany and CEO of Microsoft Germany, explains:
“We want to make female talent more visible – also to overcome unconscious bias and inspire other women (and men) who have great ideas but are still hesitant to take the big step into entrepreneurship.”
