Flix North America will centrally manage the business of Flixbus and Greyhound in the US, Canada, and Mexico. The new company is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.

“The acquisition of Greyhound last year was an enormously important step for Flix. Expanding to two strong brands has helped us move significantly closer to our long-term goal of strengthening our global presence”,

says André Schwämmlein, co-founder and CEO of Flix.

“By bringing together the brands FlixBus and Greyhound, which will continue to operate independently, under Flix North America Inc., we are now strengthening the interplay of the two units. We will continue to expand the synergies of the companies to offer our passengers affordable, comfortable, and sustainable mobility in the future.”

Flix restructures leadership of US subsidiaries

Kadir Boysan will be CEO of Flix’s new US subsidiary, having previously served as CEO of Turkish bus operator Kâmil Koç, which was acquired by Flix. Current Greyhound CEO Dave Leach will retire at the end of 2022 after more than 30 years with the company. Until then, he will serve Greyhound as a strategic advisor. Schwämmlein says:

“Dave’s leadership qualities and expertise have been instrumental in helping us create a strong foundation for the future.”

Leach joined Greyhound in 1986 as a baggage handler and worked his way up before being appointed CEO of the company in 2007. Bill Blankenship, the current COO and president, will take over leadership of Greyhound and has been with the company for 25 years. Flixbus will continue to be led by Pierre Gourdain in North America.
