The Munich startup Floy helps radiologists detect difficult-to-see abnormalities using artificial intelligence. Founded in 2021, the startup already received a €1.3 million pre-seed funding in its founding year. In 2022, a seed round of €2.1 million followed with European investors. At the end of last year, another funding round of €5.4 million was added. Now Floy can look forward to another recognition of its work. The healthtech has been awarded the title “Innovator of the Year 2024”.
“Innovator of the Year” is the largest public award in the German economy and recognizes companies of all sizes. Award winners range from startups to global corporations – what matters are the innovative products, procedures, and concepts of the nominees. Companies can apply for the nomination of their innovations by submitting a nomination form. A nomination committee, consisting of previous winners, business experts, and business journalists, reviews the applications and selects the 20 most promising candidates. These have the opportunity to present themselves to public voting.
