Christmas came early for Blickfeld: The manufacturer of LiDAR solutions has secured growth financing of 7.5 million euros just before Christmas. The round is led by private equity firm New Future Capital (NFC) and UVC Partners. Existing investors Bayern Kapital, Continental, Fluxunit – ams Osram Ventures, High-Tech Gründerfonds and Tengelmann Ventures are also participating.

With the fresh capital, the Munich startup aims to further intensify its marketing and sales activities, thereby doubling its revenue in the coming year and beyond each year. Additionally, the company seeks to strengthen its market position in core markets Europe, North America, and China. The startup will also invest in the further development of its proprietary LiDAR technology and industry solutions based on it.

The Munich startup Blickfeld, founded in 2017, develops and manufactures LiDAR sensors and perception software. These generate precise three-dimensional information about the shape and surface properties of surrounding objects, enabling various applications. The technology is already being used for privacy-compliant capture of vehicle and pedestrian flows on retail floors and in public spaces. It also supports optimization of traffic flow, urban planning, and reduction of false alarms in building and security systems. Currently, Blickfeld reports the strongest growth in areas such as volume measurement of bulk materials. According to Munich Startup Insights, the Munich LiDAR company has raised over 46 million euros in funding since its founding.

“An indispensable standard in many industries”

Mathias Müller, founder and CEO of Blickfeld, on the current growth financing:

“The renewed commitment of our investors demonstrates their confidence in our solutions. We are confident that our LiDAR technology will soon establish itself as an indispensable standard in numerous industries and applications. It’s reassuring to know that our investors continue to support us as strong partners.”

And Daniel Reese, investment manager at UVC Partners, says:

“Blickfeld has successfully established itself in several industrial use cases with precise detection solutions (e.g. in security and volume measurement). We believe there is still much more potential in the industry and that Blickfeld’s LiDAR technology will bring significant improvements in numerous areas. We are excited to continue supporting the company’s success story.”
