More money for reusable packaging: The sum of 1.5 million euros collected at the beginning of the year has been increased by Hey Circle by a further 500,000 euros. A total of two million euros is now in the startup’s account, which aims to make e-commerce more sustainable with its reusable shipping system. Both existing investors such as Capacura and Gateway as well as new business angels participated in the second closing.
“We are delighted that more partners want to go the reusable route with us. More and more investors are focusing their investments on impact startups that do something for the climate. In our case, there is also the fact that waste avoidance is a very tangible issue – for consumers and investors alike. They see the potential in Hey Circle’s reusable shipping solution,”
says Doris Diebold, founder and managing director of Hey Circle.
The fresh capital flows into the expansion of the IT and sales team as well as the scaling of production. With the first part of the financing round, the startup was already able to place a larger production order for the shipping boxes. Delivery is scheduled for summer 2024.
The boxes in five different sizes will receive a number of design adaptations tailored to the needs of customers and logistics. A new XXL box will also be launched this year. Hey Circle wants to further improve the existing life cycle assessment through the use of recycled material.
CTO Morris Kurz explains:
“The bags and boxes that can be reused again and again are part of the Hey Circle solution. We also support online retailers with the complete integration of the reusable offering into the online shop, ensure that the packaging is returned, and track the CO2 savings.”
