Fashion brand Drykorn operates two high-traffic shops in Berlin and regularly supplies them with new merchandise. A side effect of these deliveries was that many shipping packages were left over, resulting in large amounts of waste. When searching for an environmentally friendly alternative for transport packaging, the Munich startup Hey Circle convinced them with its reusable shipping system. The lightweight, dirt-repellent, and easy-to-store shipping bags and boxes meet the special requirements of intralogistics as well.
Around 230 reusable shipping solutions from Hey Circle are now in use for shipping goods to Drykorn’s Berlin stores and to logistics and other partners. Shipping is handled via UPS. For returns, the empty packaging is folded and bundled and shipped back, so it’s ready for the next use. The Hey Circle shipping packaging is designed to replace around 50 single-use cardboard boxes during its lifecycle.
According to Drykorn’s sustainability department, the transparent CO2 footprint was decisive in choosing Hey Circle as a provider. According to company information, the XL boxes used alone have already saved around 1.6 tons of waste and 1.75 tons of CO2 emissions. The CSR team adds:
“Handling the Hey Circle boxes works so smoothly that there’s really nothing to complain about. Especially the boxes with self-erecting sides are popular with our packers. The packaging is used most frequently with plenty of space, so we can also imagine using an even larger box.”
Hey Circle founder Doris Diebold comments:
“Drykorn was a customer from day one and trusted us early on. We’re in constant exchange and are grateful for the feedback that we were able to incorporate early in our product development. We’re delighted to be able to support Drykorn in reaching their sustainability goals.”
