In addition to 83North, Northzone, HV Capital, Vintage Investment Partners and Communfund Capital as well as existing investors Prime Ventures, EQT Ventures, Coparion, Senovo, Lios Ventures and Chris Hitchen’s Possible Ventures are also participating in the Series E round at Holidu. Part of the financing is 25 million euros in venture debt from Claret Capital and Silicon Valley Bank.
With the fresh capital, the Munich based company wants to open additional offices in Europe, grow in existing markets and advance its product development.
“The Holidu team is extremely strong in implementing their strategy”
Holidu was founded in 2014 by brothers Johannes and Michael Siebers. The vacation rental booking portal of the Munich startup was visited by more than 110 million users in the last twelve months. Under the brand Bookiply, the company offers a solution for vacation rental hosts to generate more bookings. Bookiply already accounts for more than half of Holidu’s total revenue. Johannes Siebers, co-founder and CEO, says:
“The financing allows us to continue investing in the product and expansion. The financing is strong proof of confidence in a currently challenging economic environment. Our goal is to build a large vacation rental company that helps hosts and guests across Europe with their vacation home holidays.”
Laurel Bowden, partner at 83North, says:
“The Holidu team is extremely strong in implementing their strategy. This is how they manage to succeed in the fragmented vacation rental market and take the market to the next level. The team is facing a really big opportunity for further expansion. It’s wonderful to be part of this journey and we look forward to the path ahead together.”
