With the awarding of the “Golden Nose” to the “Business Angel of the Year”, the Business Angels Deutschland e. V. (BAND) sets a sign each year for the achievements of business angels. The “Golden Nose” is a symbol of the success stories of experienced business angels. Furthermore, the award is intended to draw attention to angel investing as a driver of growth and innovation in order to motivate even more entrepreneurially experienced individuals to participate in young, high-growth companies with capital and expertise.
A jury consisting of high-profile actors in the German business angels ecosystem will decide who receives the award this year after the submission deadline. The “Business Angel of the Year 2025” will be honored and awarded as part of the “Business Angels Community Summit” on Thursday, October 2, 2025 in Munich.
Who can nominate a business angel for 2025?
- Exclusively startups in which the business angel or angel investor is involved
- The investment must have been made after December 31, 2020.
Who can be nominated?
Business angels who
- support their portfolio companies outstandingly with capital, expertise, empathy and their networks,
- have their main residence in Germany and
- have already completed successful exits, at least that would be desirable.
What must the proposal contain?
- Brief outline describing the outstanding commitment of the proposed angel
- Contact details of the angel investor(s)
- Short profile of the nominating startup including contact details
