Attention MusicTech founders: The application phase for the Music WorX incubator in Hamburg is now open. The support program is aimed primarily at teams in the early stage. Both pre-founding teams and already established startups can apply, as long as they are still in an early development phase and are not yet market-ready. Munich-based MusicTech startups are also invited to apply.
An expert jury will select five teams from all submissions to participate in the three-month incubator. The goal of the program is to develop market-ready business models from early ideas and to support founders in clearly communicating and further developing their ventures.
Workshops, mentoring, and financial support
Music WorX combines workshops, mentoring, and networking opportunities with financial support. Each team receives an individual development budget of 3,200 euros. Teams can use this budget for services to further develop their business idea. Additionally, the program provides a monthly living allowance of 1,500 euros over the three-month period.
Furthermore, Music WorX provides workspaces in the coworking space in Hamburg as well as digital tools for collaboration. In addition, the program awards prize money of 1,000 euros for an audience award at the public pitch and 2,500 euros for the best development in the incubator.
According to the call for applications, participating teams do not have to give up company shares. The rights to the ideas also remain with the founders.
The program relies on a mix of digital formats and in-person events in Hamburg. Mandatory events are a kick-off in September, the public pitch in November, and a wrap-up in December. However, according to the organizers, permanent presence in Hamburg is not necessary.
Focus on storytelling and network building
The incubator is structured in several program phases:
In September, Music WorX starts with the phase “Clarity – Define Your Focus”. Teams work on their vision and on connecting market demand, product idea, and impact.
In October, the phase “Storytelling – Craft Your Narrative” follows. The focus is on pitching as well as on the linguistic and visual presentation of the business idea and its positioning.
A central component of the program is the Music WorX Public Pitch. All teams present their ventures to industry representatives and interested parties in Hamburg.
In addition, participants gain access to a network of mentors, experts, and peers. Connections to an investment circle as well as participation in the Reeperbahn Festival and the Reeperbahn Conference are also part of the program.
