The European Prize for Women Innovators honours the women entrepreneurs behind Europe’s most groundbreaking innovations. With this prize, the EU recognises women whose groundbreaking innovations create positive change for people and the planet. The prize is awarded in three categories: Women Innovators, Rising Innovators, and EIT Women Leadership.
The Women Innovators category is aimed at the most talented innovators in the EU. First place comes with a prize money of €100,000, the runner-up receives €70,000 and third place wins €50,000. Rising Innovators honours women under 35 years of age. In this category, first place receives €50,000, with the following places awarded €30,000 and €20,000 respectively. In the EIT Women Leadership category, the focus is on outstanding female leaders from the EIT community. Here too, first place receives €50,000, with second and third place receiving €30,000 and €20,000.
Apply for the European Prize for Women Innovators by 27 September
To apply for the European Prize for Women Innovators, founders must have launched their startup at least two years ago. In addition, the company must have its headquarters in an EU member state or a participating country of the “Horizon 2020” programme. The application deadline is 27 September.
