The SIA implements an annual program in approximately 20 countries across three continents, consisting of low-barrier and interactive education and incubation formats. Young social enterprises are supported in their initial steps with know-how, mentoring, and access to networks. The most promising enterprises from the 3-month incubation phase also receive pre-seed funding and access to important networks.
Who can apply?
The SIA is designed to support young social entrepreneurs. Therefore, there are several criteria to consider when applying:
- All members of the core team must be between 14 and 30 years old.
- Ideas in the early implementation phase can only be submitted if the project was founded after January 1 of the previous year.
- The submitted projects must not have received any significant formal seed funding at the time of application. This is defined as formal grants from external sources exceeding a value of 6,000 euros (e.g. angel investment, scholarships, prize money, etc.).
- Ideas submitted in previous years, except for former finalists or winning projects, can be submitted again. Individuals/teams can apply with new ideas even if they were selected as finalists or winners in previous years.
Applications can be submitted until May 13. A jury will then review the submissions and announce the selected teams that will participate in the incubation program on June 4.
By the way: Those who are not admitted to the program will also receive feedback from the jury to help them revise and further develop their idea.
