With its digital assistant, Knowron wants to support service technicians. A Q&A search function based on natural language processing (NLP) is designed to help quickly find the right information instead of having to search through manuals and service reports manually. Additionally, the solution provides direct access to existing documents and offers supplementary features such as systematic troubleshooting or tutorials. This is intended to increase the “first-time-fix rate” and efficiency of service technicians, while also making the onboarding of new technicians easier. In this way, the Munich-based company aims to help address the shortage of skilled workers in machinery and plant engineering.
Knowron and Silicon Valley
The three Knowron founders Fabian Pelzl, Arturo Buitrago Méndez, and Ali Kareem Raja met at Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM). They founded their startup in 2020, and in spring 2021 Knowron became part of the B2B accelerator Alchemist in Silicon Valley. Renowned machinery manufacturers such as Voith, energy supplier and grid operator E.ON, and ASMPT, a global provider of hardware and software solutions for semiconductor and electronics manufacturers, are already among the startup’s customers.
ASMPT’s venture capital arm is now also part of Knowron’s seed investment round as a strategic partner. In total, €1.8 million was raised for the Munich-based company. Additional investors include the Alchemist Accelerator, the CDTM, and business angels from industry.
