Munich-based startup Lemonflow has successfully completed its pre-seed funding round. Early-stage investor Speedinvest, the CDTM Venture Fund, and industry players from the mobility and artificial intelligence sectors have invested. With the fresh capital – whose exact amount has not been disclosed – the Munich-based startup aims to further develop its product and integrate it across Europe’s charging infrastructure.
Lemonflow is developing a voice-based AI agent for charging infrastructure operators. The young company’s goal is to automate customer support, reduce operating costs, and simultaneously improve the user experience at charging stations. Lemonflow was founded by Lukas Fieber and Konstantin Huneke – two former McKinsey project managers with industry expertise. Fieber holds a PhD from the University of Oxford in engineering, and Huneke led McKinsey’s EV Charging Practice. With their company, they are pursuing a vision to create the leading AI infrastructure for operational support in mobility – with charging infrastructure as the first application field.
Solution for real problems
According to the company, Lemonflow’s AI is already being used in collaboration with charging infrastructure operators across Europe. In addition to voice control, the solution offers omnichannel support via chat and email. The technical foundation is a combination of intelligent orchestration and low-latency infrastructure, designed to enable fast real-time support.
Another central element of the platform is continuous analysis of interaction data. This is intended to enable the identification of problem causes and the derivation of operational improvements from them. Konstantin Huneke, co-founder of Lemonflow, on the current funding round:
“This funding enables us to take the next step on our journey to become the leading vertical AI solution in e-mobility and charging infrastructure. We are developing AI that truly understands the specific requirements of the industry, is integrated with physical infrastructure, and solves real problems at scale.”
Goal: scaling and integration across Europe
The funds from the financing round will be used to expand the product and engineering team and to implement deeper integrations with charging infrastructure management systems. In addition, implementation with additional operators across Europe is to be accelerated.
Victor Huerbe, principal at Speedinvest, sees Lemonflow as an important building block for the next generation of mobility infrastructure:
“The mobility industry is at a turning point – operational excellence and customer experience are more important than ever, from charging infrastructure to parking. Lemonflow’s vertical AI is made exactly for this moment: deeply integrated, rapidly scalable, and practice-oriented. We are excited to support Konstantin, Lukas, and the team in building the AI infrastructure for the next generation of mobility.”
Adrian Zierer, founder of Charge Construct and supporter of Lemonflow, also emphasizes the relevance of the solution:
“I have implemented hundreds of charging locations for almost all CPOs in Germany – and in doing so, I have experienced firsthand where the real challenges lie today. It is no longer just about expansion, but about efficient operations and excellent service. Customer support is one of the most difficult – and usually underestimated – components. Lemonflow addresses exactly that with a state-of-the-art approach and a team that truly understands the operational reality on the ground. That is why I support them.”
