The LMU Innovation Incubator is a three-month early-stage startup program for teams of researchers, current and former students, and employees. The incubator offers the opportunity to explore and validate ideas for impactful innovations at the intersection of academia, science, and industry. As part of the program, participants have the opportunity to find co-founders and early investors as well as become part of the IEC startup community.
In three Innovation Lab rounds in October, November, and December, potential founders learn in various workshop modules how to transform their research into an innovative company. They also participate in customized consulting and individual coaching sessions. At the closing event, the Demo Day on January 18, 2024, all participants present their ideas exclusively to investors, potential co-founders, and the IEC entrepreneurial community.
To apply for the LMU Innovation Incubator, interested candidates must meet the following requirements:

- Idea / product is in an early stage (pre-seed, prototype)
- If ideas / innovations are financed by external investors, there must be clarity about intellectual property
