Munich-based logistics startup Digilo is receiving new financing, though “new” is relative in this context, as Logntech is increasing its existing stake. The amount of the strategic move is not disclosed.
What is noteworthy is less the funding round itself than its focus, as the company does not position itself as a provider of fully automated warehouse robotics. Rather, Digilo wants to act as an integrator for warehouse environments between manual processes and complete automation. The startup aims to make existing warehouse processes more efficient without completely rebuilding them. This is precisely a gap that has existed in the logistics industry so far, which is now to be closed.
Logntech increases stake – investment amount remains undisclosed
Logntech and Digilo want to significantly strengthen the expansion of their existing partnership through a long-term collaboration. The capital is primarily intended to flow into scaling the business model in Europe.
“Growing quickly is easy. Growing well is the goal,”
says Nicolas Lassal, CEO of Digilo. The investment is intended to enable the company to further develop solutions and work more closely with customers in Europe.
Digilo focuses on one-stop shop for warehouse logistics
Gilles Tassery, founder of E-Dentic and co-founder of Digilo, emphasizes the strategic significance of the timing:
“The era in which logistics companies had money left over for pure ‘innovation experiments’ is over. They need an integrator that offers a one-stop shop for real requirements. This financing is the fuel to make our vision a reality across all of Europe.”
According to its own statements, the startup is already active in eight European countries, including Germany, Austria, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The goal is to act as a cross-border partner for larger logistics companies.
