The Media Startup Fellowship supports young entrepreneurs in developing new solutions for the media industry. Within the nine-month funding program, media startups receive support for their development through coaching, access to a large network in the media industry, and up to 50,000 euros. Some parts of the program such as coaching and workshops take place in person, while others are conducted online.

Media Startup Fellowship: support in three phases
The program is divided into three phases. In each phase, participants also receive financial support. Phase 1 of the Fellowship starts with the validation of the startups’ prototypes. Additionally, founders should find their first customers and develop a market positioning. In this phase, founders receive coaching in the areas of vision & validation, MVP, and pitch. In this phase, startups receive up to 10,000 euros in support.
The second phase focuses on optimizing sales and finding customers. The Media Lab Bayern supports this with contacts in the partner network and the media industry. Coaching on digital marketing & sales, problem-solution fit, and business modeling are designed to advance the startups. Here too, participants can expect financial support of 10,000 euros.
In the third and final phase, participants develop a sustainable business model and a fundraising strategy. Accompanying coaching on finance & forecasting and fundraising strategy take place for this purpose. The payout in phase 3 is 20,000 euros. The program concludes with a demo day.
