In the free version of its app, Femfeel offers various informational articles about menopause. It also provides the ability to track and evaluate symptoms. With this, the startup wants to help users identify patterns, pinpoint triggers for symptoms, and adjust their measures accordingly. The premium version of the app also offers courses from experts. These help improve well-being during menopause through exercise, nutrition, and stress reduction.

In addition to the app, the femtech startup offers women the opportunity to gain clarity about their current hormone status through a hormone test combined with a consultation with a hormone specialist. During the consultation, all questions about menopause should be clarified.

Femfeel and the taboo topic of menopause

Femfeel was founded in 2020 by Marie Reger and Janna Kraft with the goal of accompanying women through all 15 years of menopause and offering everything necessary for adequate care. The third co-founder is Michaela Lehr, who supports the two industrial engineers with around 15 years of programming experience. The idea came to Marie and Janna in their shared apartment, based on the needs of their own mothers. The founders say:

“Through our mothers, we noticed how big the taboo and the gap in offerings around menopause is.”

Now Medice Health Family is acquiring the startup. Medice sees itself as an integrated innovative healthcare provider for patients’ lives. It also wants to expand therapy options for doctors beyond the pharmaceutical approach. In the area of women’s health, Medice Health Family is active with Remifemin products, among others, which help women combat symptoms during menopause. Femfeel’s app fits well into the portfolio.

Richard Ammer, managing partner of Medice, explains:

“Digital health solutions will continue to gain importance in the coming years. We see great growth potential here and are pleased to have taken an important step in this direction with the acquisition of Femfeel.”
