The Munich Founder Prize is heading into its next round. Until August 2, 2026, companies from the state capital can apply for the renowned award. In addition to the audience prize for the best startup, Stadtsparkasse München is awarding the jury prize for the best rising company for the third time.
Since 1997, the Munich Founder Prize has honored innovative entrepreneurs and promoted the startup climate in Munich. The search is on for companies based in Munich whose business ideas are social, sustainable, innovative, digital, or particularly relevant to the region.
Award for startups and rising companies
The competition targets two different company phases. In the “startup” category, companies with a founding date between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2025 can participate. The jury pays attention to, among other things, a convincing business plan, an innovative business idea, a successful market entry, and secured financing.
For the jury prize “Rising company,” companies that were founded between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2022 are eligible. They should employ around 15 employees, generate annual sales of at least one million euros, and already demonstrate strong growth. A convincing management team and a viable business model also factor into the evaluation.
The awards ceremony will take place at the end of October at Werk1. Winners in both categories receive a comprehensive package including two half-day coaching sessions with experienced consultants from the startup scene, media coverage, and an invitation to the Founder Podcast of Stadtsparkasse München.
Interested companies can submit their application until August 2, 2026.
