Munevo develops a smart glass solution for controlling wheelchairs via head movement. Recently, the Munich-based startup based at the MTZ completed a financing round with 3 million euros. The capital is intended to enable, among other things, an expansion into the United States.
Bavaria innovation award: “We are very proud and happy”
The Bavaria innovation award has been presented since 2012. Product and process innovations as well as technology-oriented services that were developed in Bavaria and introduced to the market no more than four years ago are honored. The award is not associated with a monetary prize.
Munevo prevailed against the competition in the special “startup” category. On its LinkedIn page, the startup writes:
“We are very proud and happy that our work is being honored with the innovation award – thank you!”
The main awards go to Evosys Laser from Erlangen, Simon Möhringer Anlagenbau from Wiesentheid, and Schlenk Metallic Pigments from Roth. EOMAP from Seefeld receives the special award in the category “companies with fewer than 50 employees”. The special award in the category “cooperation between business and science” goes to Heinz Soyer Bolzenschweißtechnik from Wörthsee, and the jury’s special award goes to Schreiner Group from Oberschleißheim. Economic Minister Hubert Aiwanger says:
“Only with a successful and sustainable innovation culture can Bavaria remain an attractive economic location and overcome crises. The award winners and participants in the 2022 Bavaria Innovation Award competition also make a significant contribution to this.”
