SXSW brings together conferences and festivals that provide a platform not only for new technologies, but also for film and television, music, education and culture. Among the speakers already announced for the coming year are Patagonia CEO Ryan Gellert, Anne Wojcicki, co-founder and CEO of DNA analysis company 23andMe, and Ginni Rometty, author and former chair, president and CEO of IBM.
5-day curated program at SXSW
The Landeshauptstadt München will also be represented by a delegation in Austin, which will include Munich startups. Interested startups can therefore apply for one of five startup packages. This includes:
- an Interactive Badge for participation in SXSW 2023 (1 ticket per startup)
- a flat travel allowance of €1,000
- participation in targeted networking and presentation formats, organized by the City of Munich and German Innovation – official partner of SXSW
- inclusion in the curated program (03.09. – 03.14.2023), created together with the City of Munich and the Innovation Bridge Europe network – official partner of SXSW
Startups from Munich can apply if they are listed on munich-startup.de/startups – or register quickly here – and have already generated initial revenue with their product or service. Additionally, internationalization or the acquisition of international investors should be on the agenda. The application deadline is January 15, 2022.
