What can’t be missing from a founder festival like the Bits & Pretzels? Of course, the startups. We looked around the exhibition and spoke with several Munich founders about their experiences and impressions.

Craftguide is dedicated to digital work assistance. The startup provides a platform where workflows can be retrieved step-by-step—both via a website on smartphone or PC and in VR or AR. This is intended to enable skilled workers and support staff to perform manual processes and receive work assistance on site where they need it. “We use automatically generated voice-overs for this, which makes the entire thing available in up to 43 different languages,” says CFO Adrian Indefrey. On Craftguide’s second appearance at the founder festival, he draws a positive conclusion: “Bits is definitely a great event. You can network, exchange ideas, and make new contacts.” (Photo: Munich Startup)
Zählerfreunde is also presenting itself at the Bits & Pretzels. The young company, which Munich Startup will also accompany to the Web Summit, operates a platform for intelligent electricity meters. These so-called smart meters allow customers to connect with the platform and use various benefits, always with the goal of consuming energy more efficiently. “Since the beginning of the year, we’ve also been selling our system as a white label to municipal utilities, metering operators, or energy providers so they can offer it to their customers,” explains Jonas Pfab, CTO of Zählerfreunde. At the trade fair, the startup meets with investors, manufacturers, software service providers, and accelerators. “There’s really a lot going on, which makes us very happy.” (Photo: Munich Startup)
Knowron has set itself the task of solving the skilled labor shortage in the machinery manufacturing sector. The startup is developing a personal AI-powered assistant for service technicians that is intended to make them more efficient in their daily work. About their first Bits appearance, co-founder and CEO Fabian Pelzl says: “We’re mainly here today for recruiting and to possibly land a few partnerships. And of course also to show our face, to let the startup community know that we exist.” (Photo: Munich Startup)
The Ocean Package is presenting its reusable packaging for e-commerce at the trade fair. Philip Mayer, one of the founders, also shows enthusiasm for the opportunities the founder festival offers: “On the one hand, it’s clearly a home advantage—we’re from Riem. We’re looking forward to incredibly good contacts that we’ve already made here, and we’re open to all conversations just to get some more input.” And he adds: “We’ve had an incredibly high turnout—we haven’t even had time to eat anything yet.” (Photo: Munich Startup)
Shortly after opening its recycling facility for lithium-ion batteries, Tozero is also represented at the Bits & Pretzels. Selim Çapar from Tozero tells us: “I’ve already participated in many trade fairs and exhibitions. And although the focus here is rather on other industries, the interest in our startup was incredibly high—that was really incredible for us. It’s truly a successful exhibition.” (Photo: Munich Startup)
