With Orcan Energy’s systems, companies can generate electricity from waste heat. The modules are used wherever waste heat is generated – for example in engines, in industrial processes or on ships. The company promises that it can make even smaller waste heat sources and low temperatures usable. Patrick Prügger is to play a central role in the growth goals and expansion plans of the Munich startup. With his international experience and extensive industrial expertise, Prügger is becoming the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Prügger brings his knowledge of financial management and strategic planning to his new role. He began his career at KPMG, where he developed deep and broad industrial expertise. During his time at Gericom and KTM, he served as CFO responsible for a wide range of tasks in these publicly listed companies. Most recently, he was CFO of the B&C Group, which holds stakes in publicly listed Austrian industrial companies and minority stakes in technology-focused growth companies with an industrial focus.
As CFO, he will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company. His expertise will help design financial instruments to accelerate company growth and product sales. A particular focus will be on developing innovative financing solutions to make Orcan Energy’s technology available to even more customers worldwide. Prügger succeeds Marcus Jentsch, who requested the supervisory board to terminate his service contract for personal reasons.
Andreas Sichert, CEO and founder of Orcan Energy, comments on the new appointment:
“We are delighted to welcome Patrick Prügger to our team. His long-standing expertise in strategic financial planning as well as practical implementation is very valuable for our current growth phase. His international network and understanding of our customers’ needs will help us with scaling.”
The new CFO Patrick Prügger adds:
“I am delighted to join Orcan Energy at such a crucial time. The utilization of waste heat is an important lever for many industries to achieve their climate goals. I look forward to working closely with the team. My focus will be on structuring financial processes and instruments to best support our growth ambitions.”
