Hamberger Flooring, the company behind the Haro brand, uses modular waste heat solutions from Orcan Energy. The waste heat modules convert excess heat into CO2-neutral electricity and enable additional savings on the existing cooler. The first module at the Stephanskirchen location has been running since spring 2024. Due to the positive results, Hamberger Flooring has ordered another module. It is scheduled for delivery and installation in the first quarter of 2025.

At the Haro Stephanskirchen site, a hot water network supplies heat to the production of various floor coverings for drying, gluing, and surface treatment. While excess heat can be partially used for heating in winter, there are significant overcapacities, especially in summer. The waste heat modules from Orcan Energy convert this excess heat into electricity that can be used directly on-site. In addition to the electricity cost advantage, the load on the existing cooler is reduced, which brings further savings.

Hans Peter Bauer, head of central services at Hamberger Flooring, comments:

“The installation of the first module was a complete success. Within less than half a year, we were able to realize a system from order to implementation that makes our processes significantly more energy-efficient and thus more sustainable. The second module will help us fully exploit our entire waste heat potential on-site.”

Andreas Sichert, CEO of Orcan Energy, adds:

“The collaboration with Hamberger Flooring is a great example of a successful local partnership and the benefits of our modular approach. This allows us to adapt flexibly to individual site requirements and specific waste heat potentials. Once the customer was convinced of the advantages of our technology, the system could now be easily expanded with a second module.”
