For the first time, the Munich Startup Special Prize was awarded at the founder festival Bits & Pretzels. The winner is the startup PointTwelve. If you’ve known us for a long time and are now wondering about the new prize: Our Munich Startup Award has been presented at Bits & Pretzels so far. Since this award was already presented as part of the Munich Startup Festival 2023, we now have our special prize worth €2,500 at Bits & Pretzels called the “Munich Startup Special Prize”. The special prize is intended to honor the innovation power of Munich startups and make them more visible at the international founder festival.
PointTwelve impressed as the best Munich startup at Bits & Pretzels. The regulation-tech company has developed a SaaS platform that enables manufacturers of energy-intensive goods to certify their production more efficiently. With the IoT and software solution, manufacturing companies can more easily demonstrate that they use renewable energy. Additionally, companies can use the solution to create digital product passports, quantify their carbon emissions, and obtain government-approved certificates.
Munich Startup Special Prize endowed with €2,500
The prize was presented as part of the Bits & Pretzels networking day in the Schottenhamel tent at Oktoberfest by the Councilor for Labor and Economic Affairs, Clemens Baumgärtner:
“Munich is an excellent location to found and scale startups. At Bits & Pretzels, PointTwelve’s innovative solution impressed us, which is why this year’s special prize goes to them.”
The winning team is delighted about the award. Flore de Durfort, CEO of PointTwelve, commented at the prize presentation:

If someone had told me 10 years ago, when I was still a student in Paris, that one day I would receive a prize for my tech startup in a beer tent at Oktoberfest, I wouldn’t have believed them.
