Qwello provides cities with a turnkey charging solution by supplying all elements of charging infrastructure, including hardware and software development, installation, operation, and maintenance. The charging stations are also equipped with user-friendly features, such as symbol-based user communication for universal accessibility or options for contactless credit card or mobile payment. Through the accompanying app, billing, reservations, and location searches are handled. With this approach, the Munich-based startup is already active in many European markets, including the UK, France, Spain, and Poland.

Perfect match

As recently announced, the Munich e-mobility startup is acquiring Park & Charge – making it one of the leading Dutch operators of charging stations. Qwello founder Henrik Thiele comments:

“Qwello’s vision has always been to offer a turnkey charging infrastructure solution for all of Europe that enables cities and municipalities to make it easier for their citizens to transition to electric mobility. With Park & Charge, we have found a partner that not only shares our values but also fits perfectly with our European growth strategy. We share a focus on user-friendliness and innovation, and our collaboration enables us to combine the expertise of Qwello and Park & Charge in the areas of operation, installation, and maintenance.”

Founded in 2016, Park & Charge has established itself in the Dutch market by offering municipalities a charging infrastructure solution for electric vehicles. The company, which according to its own statements is now active in approximately 200 Dutch municipalities, will continue to operate independently in the Netherlands and focus on growth in the public sector. The collaboration offers both parties the opportunity to expand more rapidly and thus meet the growing demand for charging stations.

Jeroen Franken, managing director Qwello Benelux, explains:

“In my opinion, Park & Charge and Qwello fit together perfectly. With our innovative technological know-how and our European experience in growth and expansion, combined with Park & Charge’s established and proven infrastructure management and positive customer experience, I see the best of both worlds coming together.”
