Reflex Aerospace expands its seed round by €1.75 million to a total of nearly €9 million. Bayern Kapital is joining the Munich and Berlin-based startup as a new investor through its EFRE Bayern innovation fund. Founded in 2021, the company develops satellite platforms tailored to the individual needs of its customers.

In addition to new investor Bayern Kapital, existing shareholders are also injecting additional capital into the startup. The funds will finance, among other things, the construction of the first micro factory near Munich. Reflex Aerospace expects a further expansion of the seed round in the coming months. Additionally, the Starburst Accelerator is supporting the company in building its international business, particularly in the USA and France.

Reflex Aerospace’s first satellite to launch into space in 2024

For autumn 2024, the company has booked a spot on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. A 120-kilogram demo satellite from Reflex is to be transported into space to validate new technologies in space for the first time. The satellite is currently still in development and will subsequently be assembled at the planned micro factory in Munich.

“As a new space startup, we’re naturally eager to demonstrate the performance of our technologies directly in space. That’s why we’re very pleased that this milestone is coming within reach with our first firm rocket launch slot”,

says Walter Ballheimer, CEO of Reflex Aerospace.

“The expansion of our financing confirms our investors’ confidence in this goal. With this momentum, we’re driving forward the construction of our first micro factory, which we will open in Munich in the second half of 2023. We’re also on track to nearly double our workforce across locations to around 50 employees in 2023.”
