The funding for Reflex Aerospace comes from the Munich investor Alpine Space Ventures and High-Tech Gründerfonds. The startup, founded in 2021, develops satellite platforms tailored to the individual needs of its customers. With the fresh capital, Reflex Aerospace plans to build its first production capacities in Munich and double its workforce to a total of 50 employees next year. By 2024, a demonstrator should be in space, according to CEO Walter Ballheimer:

Christian Ziach, principal at High-Tech Gründerfonds, says:
“By 2040, the global aerospace market volume is projected to nearly triple to one trillion euros. Half of this growth alone is expected to come from satellites for broadband connectivity, an area where Europe in particular has significant catching up to do. With its experienced team and very strong partners, Reflex Aerospace is excellently positioned to unlock this market potential.”
The startup has already led a feasibility study for the EU Commission, demonstrating its ability to play a key role in building a European constellation of communications satellites, says COO Alexander Genzel. Together with the Bavarian State Chancellery, they are also working on a concept to quickly replace failed satellites in crisis or war situations, thereby protecting critical infrastructure.
