The cooperation gives Reflex Aerospace the opportunity to apply its expertise in innovative satellite design and manufacturing methods. With this, the startup based in Munich and Berlin supports MBS in providing space-based technologies. To transport the satellite into Earth orbit, a launch date is already scheduled for autumn 2024.

This announcement comes almost exactly two years after Reflex Aerospace’s founding and shortly after the successful increase of the seed financing round by 1.75 million euros to almost nine million euros in total.

Sven Sünberg, managing director and shareholder of MBS, emphasizes:

“I am thrilled that after a long and intensive search, we have found a partner who has the capabilities, mindset, and experience to safely bring our technology into orbit and operate it. We need the pragmatism of New Space; an adaptable yet highly reliable satellite platform – but above all, the courage to try something new.”

With more than 40 years of experience in the aerospace sector, MBS, based in Usingen, Hesse, is an established service integrator and network operator that provides data transfer and communications services worldwide. The collaboration with Reflex allows the company to deploy new technology in the shortest possible time. For this, Reflex Aerospace is producing a customized satellite that is intended to set new standards.

Reflex Aerospace delivers ‘at the speed of light’

Walter Ballheimer, CEO of Reflex Aerospace, is confident that the collaboration will highlight the advantages of Reflex’s satellite manufacturing method:

“We are extraordinarily grateful to MBS for entrusting us with this important mission. The collaboration demonstrates that Reflex Aerospace’s innovative approach in satellite design and manufacturing, as well as our promise of delivery ‘at the speed of light,’ is exactly what the market expects in times of growing innovation pressure.”

Reflex Aerospace is a leader in the development and manufacturing of advanced dual-use satellites. The company uses new methods to modernize satellite development and production, thereby achieving significantly shorter delivery times and greater reliability. By applying AI in the design process and optimized production lines, Reflex reduces the time between order and delivery.
