Munich-based startup Rencore has expanded its Series A funding to a total of around 13 million euros (15 million dollars). The round was led by European technology investor Hi Inov, together with previous backers UVC Partners and Capnamic Ventures. With the capital increase, Rencore aims to accelerate its international growth in Europe and North America and expand its role in the governance space.
Rencore operates a cloud platform that helps companies manage and secure their Microsoft 365 environments. The software helps IT and compliance teams enforce policies, identify risks, and automate workflows. The goal is to make collaboration in large organizations secure and compliant.
Governance for responsible AI deployment
Based on its existing Microsoft 365 governance, Rencore has also expanded its platform with features for so-called AI and agent governance. This allows companies to understand how AI systems interact with business data and what security or compliance risks arise. The solution is aimed primarily at IT leaders and those responsible for implementing AI applications in the enterprise environment in a controlled and compliant manner.
Existing customers include Amgen, Honeywell, Lufthansa Group, and Siemens Healthineers. They use the platform to control data access, enforce security policies, and keep AI systems operating within legal boundaries.
Julius Jürging, partner at Hi Inov, emphasizes:
“The increasing adoption of AI in enterprises creates new challenges in governance, security, and compliance. Rencore is well positioned to manage this complexity as the company consistently expands its proven Microsoft 365 governance to AI systems.”
Expansion in Europe and North America planned
With the new funding, Rencore plans to primarily expand its development and product teams and expand its sales activities internationally. The company also plans to work more closely with system integrators and managed service providers to establish governance structures for secure AI deployment in enterprises.
Matthias Einig, co-founder and CEO of Rencore, explains:
“Today, companies need to control not only their data but also the AI systems that access it. The new capital helps us advance this mission while expanding our presence in Europe and North America.”
