Scalable Capital has received a full banking license from the European Central Bank (ECB). The Munich startup will now operate as a CRR credit institution under the supervision of BaFin and the Bundesbank. In addition to portfolio management, stock trading, and safekeeping of customer funds, Scalable Capital now also handles deposit and lending business, making it a full bank.

With the banking license, the company expands its existing investment offering with new banking solutions. Starting October 1, 2025, customers will receive two percent interest per year (variable) on deposits. With Prime+, the interest rate applies to unlimited amounts; in the free model, up to 100,000 euros. Deposits in Prime+ are held at Scalable Capital Bank and several partner banks. Three institutions are involved at launch, with more to follow. Users can view at any time in the app and web how funds are distributed across banks and which deposit insurance protections apply.

Lending offering and trading platform expansion
nnnnWith “Credit,” Scalable Capital launches its own financing offering. Customers can take out loans between 1,000 and 100,000 euros without a fixed term or repayment plan. The variable interest rate is 3.24 percent annually in Prime+ and 4.24 percent in Free. Applications are submitted entirely digitally in the app or web.
nnnnIn parallel, Scalable Capital is expanding its trading platform. Since late 2024, the company manages portfolios on its own infrastructure. It also operates trading on the European Investor Exchange in Hanover, which is specifically tailored to private investors. Additionally, trading remains possible via Gettex in Munich and Xetra of Deutsche Börse.
