After school education gradually receives a digital update in the vocational training sector as well. The Munich-based startup Simpleclub has positioned itself here and offers content based on the framework curricula of vocational schools in digital form as text, video, interactive graphics, and exam tasks. The training area covers craft, commercial, industrial-technical, as well as IT and healthcare professions. Over 300 corporate partners already work with Simpleclub, including Deutsche Bahn, Deichmann, Brillux, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
According to the startup, this B2B business is currently going very well. A new company signs on every other day and revenue is skyrocketing. According to the company, this reached a seven-figure range in 2023, just one year after launch. To meet this demand and further expand the internal sales team, 3VC, HV Capital, 10X Founders and Bonsai Partners are now investing four million euros in Simpleclub.
Simpleclub founder and CEO Nicolai Schork explains:
“With this investment, we’re expanding our sales and product offerings. In addition to further learning content and increased content depth, we’re developing Simpleclub into an all-in-one learning platform for vocational training. This saves companies costs since they no longer need an additional learning management system.”
Simpleclub promises lower costs for companies and greater learning success for trainees
Eva Arh, partner at 3VC, says:
“Simpleclub is one of the most effective solutions for companies to address the shortage of young talent and trainers. Many vocational professions are systemically important, and trainees are the skilled workers of tomorrow for companies. The combination of relevance, market potential, and business growth convinced us to support this mission. We look forward to working with the team and are committed to contributing to the future viability of the economy and to the success model of dual vocational training with this investment.”
Alexander Powell, co-founder of Simpleclub for Business, on the benefits of his solution for companies:
“Well-qualified trainees deliver substantial added value for companies, especially in times of skilled worker shortages. The introduction of the digital learning platform saves companies money because trainers need less time to convey theoretical content and apprentices receive a personalized learning experience. Still too few companies are leveraging this strategic lever, but we’re changing that right now.”
According to Simpleclub, a company with 500 trainees can save up to 850,000 euros per year with the Munich-based solution. At the same time, trainee satisfaction and learning success increase: In a user survey conducted with Kantar, 75 percent said their performance in vocational school improved. And more than 80 percent of apprentices even say they would be disappointed if they could no longer use Simpleclub for learning.
