The exchange-based live trading platform Spiritory has successfully raised fresh capital. New investors include comedian Michael Mittermeier. He is participating as part of a group of new and existing investors.
The startup positions itself as an online marketplace for genuine whisky enthusiasts, collectors, and connoisseurs. The platform enables quick and secure buying and selling of premium spirits and aims to make the market more transparent and accessible. Since its founding in 2022, Spiritory has developed steadily and today offers listings from retailers and private users across eleven European countries.
Spiritory makes trading as simple as possible: buyers place bids, sellers list offers with just a few clicks. When prices match, a transaction occurs. An expert team inspects every bottle traded. Additionally, the platform provides indicators, sales histories, and data points to facilitate decision-making. A portfolio section supports users with statistics and information about their collection or investments.
Growth and new developments
CEO and founder Janis Wilczura emphasizes the importance of the investor group:
“We are delighted about the new funding round and the confidence from both existing and new investors. Having Michael on board is something truly special. Nobody in Germany brings as much passion for whisky as Michael Mittermeier. He is one of the greatest comedians in German history, and with his enthusiasm for all things whisky and his unique personality, he is the perfect partner for our further expansion and the next chapter of Spiritory.”
The funding provides the foundation for expanding the platform. Spiritory is already working on new solutions, especially the digitalization of stationary retail as well as innovative brand and distribution worlds for small and medium-sized distilleries and breweries.
