Startup meets crafts 2023: Full house & Bavarian delicacies

Full house at ‘Startup meets crafts’: For the 6th time, Munich Startup and the Handwerkskammer für München und Oberbayern (HWK Munich) brought innovative craftspeople and startups together on one stage last evening. The evening kicked off with a true success story: Sebastian Zenetti – interviewed here by Regina Bruckschlögl from Munich Startup and Georg Räß from HWK Munich – is a trained master optician who took an rather unconventional path for the crafts sector with the founding of You Mawo. He impressively conveyed to the audience what motivated him to found the company and how he managed to become the most innovative “Made in Germany” eyewear brand. Next came short pitches: each participating company had three minutes to present itself. Many AI solutions for and from the crafts sector were included, newly reimagined cargo bikes, a fine dust warning system, and a solution to reduce food overproduction.
