“Startup meets craftsmanship” is back: After a two-year corona break, the information and networking event from Munich Startup in cooperation with the Handwerkskammer für München und Oberbayern (HWK) is taking place again. On October 19, innovative startups and craftspeople will present themselves to the public at the Chamber of Crafts, answer questions, and be available for further conversations. We will also show you successful cooperations between the crafts sector and the startup scene. Creative local delicacies can also be discovered and sampled again. This year’s participants include Kuchentratsch, the Munich Cheese Manufactory, and Hof and Friends Drinks. You can get an impression of how the evening at “Startup meets craftsmanship” unfolds here.
The following companies are represented and offer:
- “… the first painter and coating robot,” ARE23
- “… professional expertise in electrical engineering made simple,” Bausofa
- “… the AI-based digital assistant for mobile workers,” Knowron
- “… precise sales forecasts with artificial intelligence,” Delicious Data

Drawing attention to craftsmanship and startups
Georg Räß, innovation consultant at the Munich Chamber of Crafts, is looking forward to the networking event and explains the intention behind it from the HWK’s perspective:
“With ‘Startup meets craftsmanship,’ we want to firstly introduce craftspeople to exciting solutions from startups. Secondly, to inspire the crafts sector to think about new business models. And thirdly, we want to draw craftsmanship and startups’ attention to each other, whether as contractors and customers or as cooperation partners, for example for prototype development.”
Conversely, “Startup meets craftsmanship” can also be of interest to entrepreneurs from the startup ecosystem who are looking for cooperation partners or customers from the crafts sector.
