Unit 214 was founded in 2021 and specializes in various AI and cloud services. These include consulting and full-stack development as well as blockchain and cloud-native computing. Squer is now leveraging this expertise and acquiring the startup in full – including its founding team and employees.
Vienna-based software company Squer focuses on services in system design and architecture, software modernization, agile transformation, cloud infrastructure, and platform engineering. According to the company, its client base includes Raiffeisen Bank International, Rewe Group, and Bitpanda, among others. With the acquisition of Unit 214, Squer aims to deepen its competencies in innovative AI applications, including large language models (LLMs).
The initial contact between the two companies occurred at an AI meeting in Munich. This revealed various overlaps – from a passion for cutting-edge technology to shared cultural values. This led to the decision to join forces to tackle new challenges in software development and expand the offering for clients.
On LinkedIn, Unit 214 shares:
“This is an exciting new chapter for us as we join forces with a company that shares our passion for innovation, technology, and creating impactful solutions. With Squer’s experience and resources combined with our expertise in full-stack development, software architecture, and AI consulting, we look forward to creating even greater value for our customers and partners.”
Online platform Brutkasten quotes Squer founder David Leitner:
“With the increasing availability of AI, not only how we program software is changing fundamentally, but also what software we program. Unit 214’s technical expertise complements our know-how perfectly, enabling us to leverage the benefits of AI in our development solutions even more effectively.”
