Water Stuff & Sun is a hydrogen technology startup that develops a hydrogen battery as a new storage technology for renewable energy. The storage solution is designed to combine the safe and simple distribution of renewable energy with its integration into various applications. The company was founded in 2016 and, in addition to its headquarters in Unterschleißheim, maintains a branch office in Uppsala, Sweden.
The startup won in the “Best CleanTech Solution for Energy” category. Additionally, Water Stuff & Sun was awarded a special prize as “Stand Out Performer.” In addition to a personal mentoring session with a jury member and a workshop with Publicis Sapient on scaling their solution, the startup can look forward to a showcase at Vivatech 2024 in Paris.

Other winners of the Global Energy Tech Awards include Allye Energy from the UK, Precision AI and Innerplant from the USA, HSL Technologies from France, and Previse Systems from Switzerland. In addition, Community Impact Awards were presented for the first time this year to selected organizations that have had a significant impact on their local communities. The winners here include The Renewable Solutions from Ethiopia, Govadhan Ecovillage from India, Progreen Innovation from Kenya, Waste Bangladesh from Bangladesh, and Enventure from Uganda.
