Isar Pyrolysis
Isar Pyrolysis converts plastic waste into valuable fuels locally: According to a 2017 study, approximately 6.3 billion tons of plastic waste have been generated since plastic was invented. 79 percent of it is in landfills or directly in the environment – in rivers, on beaches, as part of the notorious garbage patches, or as microplastics in the food chain. And every year, around 350 million tons of plastic waste are added, of which only just under 15 percent are recycled. A gigantic problem that startup Isar Pyrolysis wants to combat. The Munich-based company is developing a flexible system that produces fuel from plastic waste. In doing so, it aims not only to reduce waste but also to supply remote locations with fuel.
