The application phase for the Women Start-up Award 2025 is now open. Until June 25, aspiring tech founders with a connection to Bavaria can apply for the new award. The award is aimed at startups with at least one female founder in the leadership team who are in an early founding phase or about to enter the market.
The goal of the award is to strengthen women in the tech sector – because only 19 percent of all startups are currently founded by women, and the proportion in the tech industry is even lower. The Women Start-up Award addresses this directly. It creates role models, increases the visibility of female founders, and provides targeted access to relevant networks.
Comprehensive support for female founders
The award is presented by the Women Start-up initiative from UnternehmerTUM in cooperation with the Bavarian State Ministry for Economy, Regional Development and Energy, Founder Land Bavaria, and numerous partners from the startup ecosystem. Munich Startup supports the award as an official partner.
The offer for the winners includes a comprehensive support package:

- A personal dinner with an experienced investor
- Prototyping scholarships
- Intensive coaching from UnternehmerTUM network experts
After the application deadline, a selection phase begins. At the end of July, the jury nominates the finalists, who then participate in an individual training program for three months. The finale is a major pitch night on October 23 at Munich Urban Colab. There, the finalists present their solutions to a high-caliber jury. Three winning teams will be honored, as well as one additional project with a special focus on sustainability.
