The acquisition is Yoummday’s first since raising €30 million in funding from Armira Growth and Project A in February 2022. Financial details of the transaction are not disclosed. Following the acquisition, the Icon brand will initially remain in place. The existing management team will continue operations together with the Munich-based startup.

The Munich company’s Work@home operating system enables freelancers to provide customer service from anywhere in the world. Klaus Harisch, CEO and founder of Yoummday, says:

“Our strategy to grow by integrating traditional BPOs (Business Process Outsourcers, ed.) and contact center providers into our platform is reinforced by the acquisition of Icon. We look forward to working with the team, whose expertise is an ideal complement to our brand.”

Yoummday targets expansion

The startup’s customers include, according to its own statements, DAX corporations, established e-commerce players, and startups. For their projects, they can draw on more than 6,000 qualified freelancers on the Yoummday platform.

Icon, the acquired company, has been providing customer service outsourcing solutions to international businesses since 2003. Yoummday expects to benefit from Icon’s multilingual approach, global reach, and B2B customer experience. The Munich-based startup aims to expand into the British and US markets through this acquisition.
