Ecomates
Place 1: With energy for gastronomy, Ecomates takes first place in the ‘Startups of the Month’ for June. The startup is driving the energy transition in the hospitality industry. The so-called Smart-Degrader from Munich are currently the smallest fully automated biogas systems that help businesses save both emissions and money. The founders told us how the idea came about, what grandma’s garage has to do with it, and how you can support the young company. (Photo: Ecomates)
Ecoplanet
Place 2: Ecoplanet secured second place this month. The startup was founded in 2022 by Maximilian Dekorsy and Henry Keppler. In the meantime, it has a 35-person team, is active with offices in Munich and Berlin, and has raised a total of six million euros since March 2023. In the first year after product launch, the company recorded seven-figure revenues and continues to grow steadily. We spoke with founder Maximilian Dekorsy. (Photo: Ecoplanet)
Solation
Place 3: The concept of tenant electricity is about delivering electricity generated on the roof of a rental building or in its immediate vicinity directly to the tenants of the building. This way, locally generated electricity from renewable sources is used directly on-site, which is not only supposed to decentralize the power grid. Tenant electricity is also meant to be an incentive for landlords to install solar systems on the roofs of their buildings. However, high administrative barriers make this difficult. The startup Solation has developed solutions for this – and at the same time combines tenant electricity with social engagement. In the interview, CEO and co-founder Sebastian Hugl reveals more about his company. (Photo: Solation)
Exomatter
Place 4: The Munich startup Exomatter, which has developed a platform for material properties, was awarded the Rising Digital Award 2024. The prize comes with 30,000 euros and gives Exomatter fourth place among your ‘Startups of the Month’ in June. (Photo: Conciso / ImageKollektiv)
Arx Robotics
Place 5: Arx Robotics, formerly Arx Landsysteme, is a manufacturer of scalable robotic systems for use in military and commercial applications. In June, the Munich startup announced the successful conclusion of a seed financing round of nine million euros. The money flows into equipping NATO forces with ground robots. (Photo: Arx Robotics)
