ZenML announced an expansion of its seed financing from 3.5 million euros (3.7 million dollars) to 6 million euros (6.4 million dollars). Point Nine Capital is leading the investment. In addition to existing investor Crane, business angels Luke de Oliveira, Harold Giménez, and D. Sculley are also participating in the round.
ZenML’s operations framework is designed to make it faster and easier to bring a machine learning project from research into production. The open-source tool enables users to create pipelines that data scientists, machine learning engineers, and platform engineers can use to collaborate and develop new AI models.
One of ZenML’s founders, Hamza Tahir, writes on LinkedIn:
“These are exciting times – in the last two years, the world has seemingly changed a dozen-fold, and one can’t shake the impression that we are experiencing a generational shift in the world of machine learning and its impact on society. I am firmly convinced that the future of machine learning will be based on open source and that smaller, specialized models will form the foundation for the next generation of value creation.”
Alongside announcing its financing, the startup is also launching ZenML Cloud to the market. This service builds on the open-source core and extends its functionality with additional features such as single sign-on, role-based access control, and delivery integrations.
