TUM Carbon Removal: How students want to remove CO₂ from the atmosphere

Ark Climate: Innovative software for climate protection in cities
Ark Climate is a software company from Munich that develops a modern, collaborative operating system for climate protection in cities. Ruth Bosse explains what this means in our interview. She is co-founder and managing director of Ark Climate together with Michael Fröhlich. The startup has been awarded the Founding Prize for Digital Innovation and the GovTech Focus Prize at the German government’s Digital Summit, among other recognitions.
Pina Earth: “It is now more important than ever to take action”
The Munich-based startup Pina Earth wants to make German forests more climate-resilient. To do this, the startup has developed a forest conversion methodology and technology to make the resulting CO2 sequestration measurable. With this, Pina Earth offers climate protection projects for which CO2 certificates can be purchased, and provides forest owners with an additional source of income. The startup was founded by Gesa Biermann and Florian Fincke in 2021 and now has 15 employees. An interview with Gesa Biermann, co-founder and CEO of Pina Earth.
