Once again this year, TUM ceremonially awarded the Presidential Entrepreneurship Award at its Entrepreneurship Day. The honor went to Munich-based spacetech company Ororatech for its satellite-based early warning system for detecting forest fires.

Munich-based electric motor startup Deepdrive has successfully completed its series A financing and raised 15 million euros. The funding comes from BMW i Ventures and Continental Corporate Venture Capital Unit as well as existing investors UVC Partners and Bayern Kapital.

At the IAA 2021, the startup Deepdrive presented its plug-and-play platform on which companies can build their own electric car. The special thing about it: thanks to the technology from Munich, the motor disappears directly into the wheel. Numerous automakers were enthusiastic about the hub motor, so Deepdrive changed its plans.
