Quantum Systems acquires Fernride and secures Bundeswehr contract
Defence tech company Quantum Systems is expanding its portfolio through the acquisition of Fernride and is simultaneously winning a major Bundeswehr contract. The combination of air and ground autonomy strengthens the Munich company’s position in the defence sector.

Fernride: Autonomous trucks from Munich

A new year, a new ranking: Each year, the US business magazine Forbes identifies young European entrepreneurs and innovators who have had a significant impact on the development of their industry and beyond: the “30 under 30 Europe.” Among the 300 up-and-coming talents in ten different categories are also some founders of Munich startups.

Fernride expands Series A to €47 million
Fernride has already raised €29.1 million ($31 million) in a Series A financing round for its remote-controlled trucks. Now the Munich-based startup is expanding the round by an additional €17.8 million ($19 million). New investors include the German Deep Tech and Climate Fund (DTCF) and Munich Re Ventures.

Remote-controlled trucks: Fernride secures €28.7 million
Fernride has completed its Series A round with €28.7 million ($31 million). The Munich-based startup plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate development of its automated logistics solution.

DB Schenker invests in Fernride
Global logistics service provider DB Schenker invests in the Munich startup and launches a pilot project with Fernride for highly automated and electric yard logistics at a warehouse in Tilburg, Netherlands. A teleoperated truck will be integrated into daily operations there.
