The Munich-based deeptech startup Omegga wants to change that: using AI and spectroscopy, the technology determines the sex of fertile eggs before the seventh day of incubation. In this interview, co-founder Katharina Hesseler explains why the transition from the laboratory to industrial operation was the biggest challenge and how Omegga now wants to grow internationally.

The Munich-based startup Omegga is raising fresh capital to advance its technology for early sex determination in chicken eggs.

1,083 applicant startups, 42 winning teams – and with Omegga, one from Munich as well. Following the latest selection round of the EIC Accelerator 2023, the new group of companies is now confirmed that will be supported with a combination of grants and equity investments.
