Following its application for protective shield proceedings in May 2023 and the signing of an investor deal for its solar integration business in November of that year, Sono Motors can now announce the confirmation of its insolvency and restructuring plan by the insolvency court of Munich District Court as well as the closing of the investor deal with YA II PN, Ltd. (‘Yorkville’). Both are important milestones on the company’s path to recovery and for its forthcoming exit from the self-administration insolvency proceedings.

Following the discontinuation of the Sion solar car, Sono Motors GmbH has filed an application for protective shield proceedings with the competent Munich district court. Business operations will continue.

After the end of the solar car Sion, Sono Motors wanted to reposition itself and push its B2B business. In a current filing to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the startup now expresses “substantial doubts” about the continuation of its own business operations.
