Startup boom reaches new momentum in Germany
Germany’s startup ecosystem is launching at full speed into 2026: Between January and June, 3,053 startups were newly founded. This is an increase of 52 percent compared to the second half of 2025 and means more startups founded than in the entire year 2024 – a real startup boom.

German startups raised €1.7 billion in the first quarter of 2026. According to KfW Research, the volume increased by 6 percent. International investors provided more than 75 percent of the funds.

Europe’s circular economy startups attract 55 percent of global VC
According to the new 2026 startup landscape from Circular Republic, more than 55 percent of globally invested venture capital flowed to circular economy startups in Europe in 2024.
