About ciao coffee GmbH
After several years in various roles at yfood, we launched ciao at the beginning of the year to revolutionize the coffee market. While significant progress has already been made in sustainability in the dairy sector (e.g. Oatly, Alpro) and meat alternatives (e.g. Beyond Meat, Rügenwalder Mühle), the coffee industry has largely remained unchanged. Since conventional coffee beans are problematic from a sustainability perspective, we developed a sustainable coffee made from 100 % European ingredients and uses no coffee beans. This saves us over 90 % of water and CO2 consumption compared to conventional coffee. Our first product line, a ready-to-drink iced coffee (RTD), has already received positive feedback from initial listings at Rewe and Edeka in Germany (>200 POS). In the future, we will continuously expand our product portfolio (e.g. instant coffee, filter coffee).
