About ver.de
Our goal is to become Germany’s first sustainable insurance provider*. We want to be an insurance company that is different: ecologically, socially, oriented toward the common good, cooperative, and transparent. The vast majority of all investments come from the financial sector. With every form of investment, financial institutions like banks or insurance companies pass our money on – they invest it. This is how companies and projects are financed with our money. These investments have a real impact: it makes a decisive difference whether this money is invested, for example, in the energy transition or in rainforest deforestation. And so today’s investments determine tomorrow’s future. At the same time, the energy transition, climate protection, and mobility transition require enormous amounts of money. In our view, this is where the financial sector is needed – after all, the vast majority of money is here. In Germany, there are already excellent credibly sustainable banks – what is missing is an ethical, ecologically and socially responsible insurance provider*. And that is what we want to become with ver.de. The ver.de cooperative: As a member of the ver.de cooperative, you can have a say in ver.de’s future, the development of the financial sector, and the impact of our investments – and thus help shape tomorrow’s financial sector. *Only after complete financing and approval by the BaFin can ver.de call itself an insurance provider.
